Body of Filly dumped in Surrey

Body of Filly dumped in Surrey 9/10th January 2009

The discovery of the body of a young pony near Horsley has greatly concerned horse owners. Her dead body dumped by the roadside is distressing enough but with the additional news that this little one had her throat cut and was then brought to the spot has appalled many throughout the county.

Whilst we understand the widespread concern we would like to reassure riders and owners that at the present time this would appear to be an isolated case. Surrey Police take such cases very seriously and we urge anyone with information of this crime or who may have knowledge of the previous whereabouts of the little filly to contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222.

Description: A small Bay Filly, 9 months or so. 4 white socks. white star and small stripe. appears to have lived outside as the coat was quite wooly.  Condition poor.
