Information Appeal after injuries to equine in the Headley, Surrey area at the week-end

Information Appeal after injuries to equine in the Headley, Surrey area at the week-end.

Two equine. An 8 yr old miniature Shetland and a 16.1hh Clydesdale were seriously injured.

Each animal received identical injury to the right eye.  The injury was caused by the eye being punctured

by an air pellet from close range.

The little one had an operation yesterday to remove his right eye and is at present recovering. His long time close companion has been blinded. Unfortunately he had already lost the sight of his left eye.

It is beyond belief that such deliberate cruelty could happen to two innocent animals who have given such joy and love to their owners and their young children.

We appeal to anyone with information on this crime to show compassion in this matter and come forward with information. Or did you  see suspicious activity?. EVERYONE CAN PLAY A PART IN  HELPING ring Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222 quote MV/09/242.

The SAFE dedicated line for equine owners, riders who may have concern for their own situation is  01420 487625. We have an information pack available which will assist you.
