Mane Plaiting Incidents

The recent round of emails regarding a supposed theft in the Guildford area after a  plait in the mane was reported has been disproved. Todate there have been no thefts of equine in Surrey after plaits have appeared.

It is generally agreed that theft after plaiting has become somewhat of an urban myth. The spread of such stories has caused a great deal of worry to horse owners. Could this be why such stories were spread in the first place?

However, plaiting in the mane is happening....
SAFE advise any horse owner within Surrey , who may find a plait to note the time and date  when found. Take a photograph of the plait and forward all details with photo if possible to SAFE via the email address on our website.
All such incidents will be logged  and appraised. Personal details are in the strictest confidence. The pictures will enable us to detect any pattern of time etc. here in Surrey.
